Ahead of its imminent line-up refresh, Ford has introduced another limited edition version of the Ranger based on the XLT trim grade. Also included is a wireless smartphone charger, leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Lane Keep Assist, Auto High Beam Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning. Finale for bi-turbo? Also not mentioned, expectations are that the Chill Grey will use both variants of the locally-made 2.0-litre Panther diesel engine. Outputs, therefore, are again rated at 125kW/405Nm for the single turbo, and 154kW/500Nm for the outgoing bi-turbo. In total, only 250 XLT Chill Grey editions will be made. Picture: Ford As it stands, it also remains unknown whether buyers will have the option of rear-wheel drive or only the part-time four-wheel drive system. Transmissions will consist of the six-speed automatic on the single turbo and the 10-speed automatic on bi-turbo. Price Priced at R58 500 over the normal XLT, production of the Ranger Chill Grey will be limited to 250 units. Carried over from the XLT is the four-year/120 000 km warranty, with a six-year/90 000 km service plan being option.
