Journalist Ufrieda Ho passed away from cancer in the early hours of Monday 9 March 2026. She was 52 years old. In a career spanning three decades, she wrote for The Star, Daily Maverick, Spotlight and many other publications. Her memoir Paper Sons and Daughters was published in 2011.
