Following a study by the University of the Free State, it was revealed that hormone-disrupting chemicals have been found in nine popular pad and pantyliner brands used in South Africa. These hormone-disrupting chemicals are also known as endocrine chemical disruptors (ECDs), which affect the endocrine system, which is responsible for regulating menstrual cycles, fertility, puberty, mood, and development.
