Africa’s women smallholder farmers are not marginal actors in the economy but the continent’s original family-business leaders. Unlocking that potential will require recognition, legal reform, better infrastructure, smarter finance and deliberate support for women as entrepreneurs rather than treating smallholder farming as a charity case.
